ILLINOIS FLUORITE ROYALTY… BLUE, PURPLE & GOLDEN YELLOW MAGIC!
This is the kind of old-school Illinois fluorite that gets me EVERY SINGLE TIME!
An absolutely INCREDIBLE FLUORITE WITH CHALCOPYRITE from the legendary Minerva No. 1 Mine, Hardin County, Illinois!
Just look at that color zoning!
Gorgeous electric blue along the crystal edge
Rich violet-purple bands creating incredible contrast
Warm golden-yellow glowing through the lower crystal
Beautiful transparency revealing the internal zoning
Scattered chalcopyrite adding another level of character
Fantastic corner geometry and classic Illinois aesthetics
And when the sunlight hits this beauty just right? THE COLORS COME ALIVE!
What makes this specimen even more special is its provenance.
EX DR. HIROSHI HIKADE CABINET COLLECTION
A beautiful piece of collecting history from one of America’s most iconic fluorite localities.
For me, it’s the combination of color, crystal architecture, mineral association and provenance that takes a specimen from beautiful to truly SPECIAL.
This one checks all the boxes. An absolute Illinois BANGER!
Minerva No. 1 Mine, Hardin County, Illinois, USA
