An absolutely incredible, sharply terminated Azurite crystal from the Touissit Mine near Oujda, Morocco — insanely lustrous with that deep, almost black-blue saturation that explodes into electric cobalt and violet-blue when the light hits the edges.

But what takes this specimen to another level is the provenance. It comes with old collection labels from both the Jack Halpern Collection, San Francisco, California and the A. L. McGuinness Collection, San Mateo, California.

The labels also carry the notation “JH 2006” — a beautiful piece of its documented collecting history.
