Three aquamarines. Three completely different personalities. One impossible choice.

This is one of the things I love most about the hunt. I’m constantly searching for exceptional minerals from the great localities around the world, and Aquamarine is a perfect example of why locale matters.

Nigeria — rich blue color, gemmy transparency and serious presence. Nigerian Aquamarines can deliver that saturated, juicy blue that immediately grabs you.

Brazil — one of the legendary homes of Aquamarine. From classic prismatic crystals to insane natural etching, Brazil has produced some of the most iconic Aquamarines on Earth.

Vietnam — long, elegant crystal forms with electric blue color and incredible character. The finest Vietnamese Aquamarines can absolutely explode in natural light.

Same mineral species. Three completely different expressions of Earth’s art.

That’s what keeps the hunt so addictive for me. You never know what’s sitting in an old collection, tucked away in a dealer’s case, or waiting to be discovered from a locale halfway around the world.

The hunt never ends — and I wouldn’t want it to.
