An absolutely ridiculous group of Aquamarine crystals from Vietnam displaying some of the most intense pleochroism — shifting through electric blue, deep teal, icy aqua and flashes of blue-green as the crystals move through the light.
The saturation is WILD.
Every crystal has its own personality — long glassy prisms, beautiful terminations, incredible transparency and that unmistakable Vietnamese Aquamarine color that seems to completely transform depending on the angle.
This is exactly why I love filming minerals in motion. A photo can capture the color…but with material like this, you need to MOVE IT through the light to really understand what’s happening.
