OLD-SCHOOL GUERRERO AMETHYST — WITH KILLER PROVENANCE.
Now THIS is a special one.
An incredible Quartz var. Amethyst from the Valenciana Mine, Amatitlán, Eduardo Neri, Guerrero, Mexico — a classic locality famous for producing intensely colored, glassy Amethyst with dramatic purple zoning.
The crystal architecture on this piece is next level — a sculptural grouping of elongated, sharply terminated crystals with that unmistakable deep grape-purple color concentrated through the interior, transitioning into lighter, almost colorless zones toward the terminations. Similar zoning is characteristic of fine Valenciana Mine material.
But the provenance makes this one even better.
