What an absolute STUNNER from one of the world’s most legendary alpine mineral localities—Chamonix, Mont Blanc, France.

This Smoky Quartz has everything I love in a classic alpine crystal: a beautifully proportioned form, sharp faces, gorgeous natural termination and that rich smoky champagne-brown color. The luster across the termination is especially killer, sparkling as the light moves across the crystal.

And then there’s the composition—the dominant crystal rising dramatically above the smaller crystals at its base gives the entire specimen incredible balance and presence.

There is something special about these old-world Alpine Quartz specimens. Formed deep within the fractures of the Mont Blanc massif, they are pieces of geological history that happen to also be earth’s art.
