SWEET HOME RHODOCHROSITE WITH HISTORY
29.43 grams
Some specimens are special because of their beauty. Others become even more special because of where they came from and the story they carry.
This incredible Rhodochrosite comes from the legendary 20-02 Pocket at the Detroit City Portal, Sweet Home Mine, Alma, Park County, Colorado — one of the most iconic American mineral localities ever discovered.
And that COLOR… absolutely electric. Backlit, this crystal explodes into an intensely saturated cherry-red glow, showing beautiful translucency and that unmistakable Sweet Home character. The sharp crystal form and rich internal color make this one seriously captivating in hand.
Pieces from documented Sweet Home pockets have become pieces of mineral history, and having the original locality label identifying the 20-02 Pocket makes this specimen that much more meaningful.
A beautiful combination of color, locality, provenance and history. This is exactly what makes collecting fine minerals so addictive.
