MINERVA NO. 1 COLOR ZONING AT ITS FINEST
This piece is absolutely NEXT LEVEL. An incredible Fluorite with Barite from the legendary Minerva Mine #1, Hardin County, Illinois—with color zoning that stops you in your tracks.
That INTENSE electric blue zone across the top of the main cube is ridiculous, transitioning into deep purple, violet and beautiful purple-pink tones, all surrounding that warm amber/orange interior. Backlit, the entire specimen comes alive and you can really see the different generations of color locked inside these sharp, overlapping cubes.
The composition is killer too—multiple intergrown fluorite cubes creating depth, geometry and incredible visual movement from every angle. This is exactly why the great Illinois fluorites are so highly regarded.
And the provenance makes it even better:
Ex. Paul Siegel Collection
Ex. Weinrich Minerals, Inc. — St. Louis, Missouri
A serious old-school Illinois collector piece with the label to match. That blue against the purple-pink and amber is just insane.
