MINERVA NO. 1 COLOR ZONING…
This is exactly why Minerva No. 1 fluorite is legendary.
An incredible grouping of sharp cubic fluorite from the Minerva Mine #1, Hardin County, Illinois, displaying spectacular gem-blue, aqua, purple and near-clear color zoning. The layers of color seem to stack inside the crystal, creating almost a window-like effect through the specimen.
Small calcite crystals perched on the fluorite add another level of contrast and character—but the real magic happens when this piece is backlit. The internal zoning absolutely comes alive, revealing bands of blue and purple that look almost painted into the crystal.
Illinois fluorite at its best: geometry, transparency, color and history all in one specimen.
