Hunan Yaogangxian purple stepped fluorite, also known as YG fluorite, is a type of fluorite crystal prized for its vibrant colors and unique stepped growth pattern. It’s particularly valued for its aesthetic beauty and is sometimes used in jewelry or as decorative items. Some believe it possesses metaphysical properties, such as promoting mental clarity and spiritual awareness.

Appearance: Yaogangxian fluorite crystals are known for their distinct stepped growth pattern, often with a core of dark purple, a pale purple or blue zone, and a clear outer zone. They can also exhibit phantoms, which are internal crystal structures that appear as colored shadows within the crystal.
Color: The most common colors are shades of purple, blue, green, and yellow.
Hardness: Fluorite has a Mohs hardness of 4, meaning it can be scratched by a knife or a copper penny, but not by a steel knife.
Fluorescence: Fluorite is known to fluoresce under ultraviolet light, which is the phenomenon from which it gets its name (fluorescence).
Cleavage: Fluorite has four perfect cleavage planes, meaning it can be split into octahedrons.
