W.L. Davis magic under the lights

W.L. Davis magic under the lights…

This classic Southern Illinois fluorite checks every box. Rich violet cubic growth wraps around a glowing honey-gold core, creating that legendary purple-and-amber contrast that made the Cave-In-Rock district famous worldwide.

Backlit, the specimen becomes something else entirely. The golden interior ignites like stained glass while the deep lavender edges frame every cube with incredible definition. Layer upon layer of stepped growth, phantom-like zoning, and intergrown geometry give the piece insane depth and character from every angle.

What I love most is the balance—sharp cubes, beautiful translucency, and that unmistakable Illinois color palette all working together perfectly. The kind of specimen that rewards every extra second you spend studying it.
