Illinois color magic at its finest

Illinois color magic at its finest…

This Minerva No. 1 Mine fluorite puts on an absolute light show when illuminated from behind. Deep indigo and royal purple zoning frame a glowing core of golden yellow, while subtle flashes of pink and lavender dance throughout the crystal as the light shifts across the specimen.

The transparency on this piece is exceptional, allowing every layer of color to reveal itself at once. Add the delicate calcite crystals perched across the surface, and the result is a specimen packed with contrast, texture, and that unmistakable Cave-In-Rock character collectors chase.

This is the kind of fluorite that reminds you why Southern Illinois earned its legendary status. Not because of size—but because of color. The combination of indigo, purple, pink, and gold all living within a single crystal is pure Illinois magic.
