A true Denton Mine classic.
Few fluorites command attention like the legendary material from the Denton Mine in Hardin County, Illinois. Every turn of this specimen reveals an incredible blend of saturated blues, purples, and warm golden zoning, creating the unmistakable color combinations that have made Denton fluorites some of the most sought-after classics in the mineral world.
Mined between 1981 and 1994, the Denton Mine produced world-renowned fluorite with sharp cubic crystals, exceptional luster, and vivid color zoning that continues to set the standard for Illinois fluorite. Many specimens are accompanied by golden calcite, sparkling sphalerite, or flashes of chalcopyrite, adding even more character to these iconic pieces.
With the mine closed for more than three decades, exceptional Denton specimens have become increasingly difficult to acquire. Their rarity, beauty, and unmistakable “blurple” colors have earned them a permanent place in the finest mineral collections around the world.
A timeless American classic—and one that never gets old.
