Classic Minerva No. 1 atmosphere…
This Hardin County fluorite has that unmistakable old-school Illinois character collectors obsess over — deep smoky-purple zoning, glowing honey-gold translucency, and broad cubic faces with rich internal depth that completely come alive in transmitted light.
The contrast on this one is incredible. Dark moody outer zones fading into warm amber interiors with layered phantom-like structure throughout the crystal. Surrounded by a dense matrix of smaller intergrown cubes, the specimen has a rugged sculptural look while still showing those iconic clean Minerva faces front and center.
From the legendary Minerva No. 1 Mine, Cave-in-Rock District, Hardin County, Illinois — one of the most famous fluorite localities ever mined and home to some of the finest American fluorites ever discovered.
Pure vintage Illinois fluorite energy with serious collector appeal.
