Filmed outside in pure sunlight and this Illinois monster absolutely caught fire.

This Fluorite with Bitumen from the legendary Minerva No. 1 Mine glows with that deep saturated grape-purple color the Illinois-Kentucky Fluorspar District is famous for. As the sun pushes through the crystal, the internal zoning and dark bitumen inclusions create insane contrast and depth — almost like the piece is lit from within.

The geometry on this one is killer too… sharp cubic structure, rich translucency, and that moody glassy luster that only elite old Illinois material seems to have.

Natural sunlight + classic Hardin County fluorite = pure magic every time.
